Yehudah Glick of Shalom Jerusalem Foundation continues to explore the Book of Joshua regarding the Israeli spies and Rachav. From this passage alone, there should be 4 questions arising in our mind:
(1) was it right for Joshua to send spies into the land (again), after what happened to the nations because of the 10 spies who gave negative reports to Moses and the people? Joshua himself was a spy sent by Moses, and he witnessed how Israel was punished to wander in the wilderness for 40 years because of the 10 other spies.
(2) was this espionage a success? The spies in Rachav’s time was caught almost immediately.
(3) why did the spies run and come to Rachav, the prostitute?
(4) didn’t God promise Joshua that He will be with him in every single step? Why send a spy? Follow Yehudah Glick’s teachings on the Book of Joshua and don’t forget to subscribe!
