We heard the President of the US announcing the “deal of the century” along with Israeli PM Netanyahu. President Donald Trump announces the right of the Jewish people to implement the Israeli law on the Jewish settlement all over Judea and Samaria.
To those who read the Bible, it seems to be quite obvious. But unfortunately, ever since the establishment of the State of Israel, the international world believes that it is illegal for Jews to settle in Judea and Samaria. President Donald Trump announces that Jerusalem is united as the capital of the State of Israel. There will be no division.
President Donald Trump also pointed out that Peace is Peace. If the Palestinian wants peace, they will have to immediately put down the path of terror. All of these things together demand us to praise Gd.
But as some of you, I am also disturbed by different parts that are not yet complete.
Ezra 3:12 follows the description of the great celebration in the Temple during the beginning of the Temple. It says,
“Many of the priests and Levites and the leaders of the families, the elderly men who witness with their eyes the founding of this house, wept loudly. And many others shouted joyously at the top of their voices.
The nation could not distinguish the people’s shouts of joy from the people’s weeping. Because the people raised a great shout and the sound could be heard from afar.”
Ezra 3:12-13
Yes, we are in the process of redemption as written in Psalms 126, “There are tears and there are joy.” But every single step throughout the process demands us to thank Gd for that step.
In 1947 when the UN came with the partition decision based on the Balfour Declaration from 1922. The UN decided that the Jewish people deserved a national homeland for themselves. But only half of the land, as the other half would go to the Arabs. The Jewish people went out to the streets and started dancing. Because for 2000 years, they have been waiting to come back from exile to the homeland.
Thew knew there was a partition in the decision. They knew they would have to give up half of their land. But they received the land. The Palestinian on the other side, the Arab side, turned down the offer, and declared war.
Ever since then, again and again, every single step in the process, the Israeli side chooses the path of thanking Gd for the miracle and the fulfillment of the Biblical prophecy. While understanding, that there is still a long way to go, the Jewish people never forget to thank Gd for the miracle that He has done.
